Who we are:

The Epilepsy Foundation® of Florida (EFOF) was established in 1971 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3). EFOF is the principal agency for epilepsy programs and services sponsored by the State of Florida, servicing the estimated 360,000 Floridians who suffer from the condition. It is the sole licensee in the state of the National Epilepsy Foundation®, which has led the fight against epilepsy since 1968.

 

What we do:

EFOF serves as the lead advocate for the rights and needs of people with epilepsy and seizure disorders at the local, county and state level. EFOF provides many valuable services to individuals and their families, regardless of their financial situation, including:

Our mission:

To ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences, as well as prevent, control and cure epilepsy through comprehensive services, education, advocacy and research. To improve how people with epilepsy are perceived, accepted and valued in society.

 

Membership/Donations:

“Keepers of the Flame” give from the heart to help bring hope and transformation to children, men and women living with epilepsy. Donations may also be given in the form of cash gifts, stock gifts, matching gifts, monthly giving, and honorary/memorial gifts.

 

Where we are located:

EFOF has five major offices located in Miami-Dade, Ft. Lauderdale, Gainesville, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach. It serves 31 counties throughout Florida: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Broward, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Indian River, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Marion, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, Putnam, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sumter, Suwannee, Union and Volusia.
